Community Shabbat & Dinner

Our monthly celebration of Shabbat consists of a combination Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv service using the Reform Siddur. The structure of the service is similar to that found in many Conservative and Reform congregations. Services are led by Rabbi Nathan with the entire congregation joining in.

After services, the congregation joins together for a Shabbat buffet dinner – reservations & advance payment is required by the Wednesday before the Shabbat service.

Shabbat  Morning Shacharit Service

Our Bi-Weekly Shabbat morning services consist of the Shacharit and Torah Services.  They are generously held at the home of one of our members, and are followed by a Kiddush and social brunch.  Come for some morning prayer, to study a little Torah, to get involved in the Torah service, practice for your Bar or Bat Mitzvah, or come for the great food and inviting company.

Off-Orchard Kabbalat Shabbat

We honor Shabbat weekly, and on Shabbats we do not have a large community dinner after service, we hold short services with a basic kiddush off-Orchard.  This provides an opportunity for our members to honor the Shabbat with a minyan consistently.  The Kabbalat Shabbat and Maariv evening service follows our Community Shabbat traditions.

Prayer Books / Siddurim

Our prayer book, Mishkan T'filah, includes Hebrew, English transliteration, and English translation to promote participation and understanding.

Kiddush Sponsorship

The Shabbat Kiddush is a time to mark various life cycle occasions within the community.  A birthday, anniversary, and Yahrtzeit are events commonly honored through a Kiddush along with baby namings, graduations, etc.  Or it can be an opportunity to perform a mitzvah and give thanks in the company of family and friends.

Would you like to sponsor for a Kiddush Shabbat?  Please fill out the online form.

To all the past Kiddush sponsors, we thank you for your generosity and greatly appreciate your support.
