About Sunday School
UHC Sunday School is a launchpad for the youth of our community to live Jewish lives, and to develop a sense of pride and confidence in their Jewish identities. Our teachers, parent volunteers, madrichim (teen aides), and rabbis collaborate to make the Sunday school a cornerstone of our UHC community and a home for families from all over the world from all different backgrounds.
We aim to:
- Celebrate Jewish life, rituals, and holidays
- Develop and deepen Jewish identity (Jewish history, Torah, Israel)
- Foster Jewish friendships and sense of community
- Prepare students for their bar or bat mitzvah
- Learn to decode Hebrew (Reading, writing, and speaking)
Overview:
- We teach in-person and use the Shalom Learning curriculum.
- We welcome children from 3 to 13 years old to enroll in Sunday school
