The UHC has a wide variety of adult education programs. These are regularly scheduled and will appear on the our website Calendar. The schedule is also sent through a weekly WhatsApp broadcast. Members can register for the WhatsApp notifications here.

If you would like to learn more about any of these programs, please email us.

Intro to Judaism

This course is open to all of UHC's members and is perfect for conversation candidates, interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, spiritual seekers, and Jews who want a meaningful adult Jewish learning experience. We will study Jewish holidays, life cycles, sacred text, history, theology, and more! Click here to register.

Tish

A Tish is a joyous Torah-centered gathering with the rabbi. We invite you to this new UHC project. Year-round gatherings covering different themes, in a 4-session per topic format. Come to learn, schmooze, and have a schnapps. All of this around a table of friends! No experience or knowledge required - just like everything we do at the UHC, it is open for all.

For our second Tish, we will be focusing on a covenant of the heart - Different Jewish theological approaches.

Torah Study Club

The UHC Singapore Torah Study Club meets weekly and is hosted and led by our Rabbis. The Torah Parsha of the week serves as the basis for a group discussion, with themes selected in collaboration with attendees and our Rabbis. The conversation is primarily in English, and the program is designed to be accessible to all, regardless of whether you have any background or education in Torah or Hebrew.

Please join us for what is always a lively and engaging discussion.

Torah and Tonics

Join us for some schmoozing, some Torah learning, and some Gin & Tonics! If you've always wanted to attend Wine & Wisdom or Scotch & Scriptures - this is your chance for some informal learning and hanging out in an all-gender setting.

Scotch and Scriptures

Calling all UHC men! Come share a glass and time with new and old friends. We promise just a bissel Torah and a lot of fellowship. No knowledge required, just your own self.

Wine and Wisdom

Calling all UHC women! Come share a glass of wine, and dig deep into our own life wisdom and the wisdom of our tradition. No knowledge required, just your own self.

Lunch and Learn

The UHC regularly meets for seminars, lectures, and discussions on a broad selection of topics relevant to our members - religion, culture, art, business, and academic subjects and more.

In the past we've hosted speakers such as the head of the WUPJ, the Israeli Ambassador to Singapore, and the Chairman of Yad Vashem.

Book Club

The UHC book club has been running since June 2021, and we have read a number of mostly Jewish-themed non-fiction books including 'A Tale of Love and Darkness' by Amos Oz, 'People Love Dead Jews' by Dara Horn, and our upcoming book, 'A State at Any Cost - The Life of David Ben Gurion' by Tom Segev. Our book club meets once a month via Zoom, and our regular participants dial-in from as far as the USA, The Philippines, Taiwan, and of course locally here in Singapore. Please see the UHC Facebook page, website, or email for upcoming books and meeting dates.
