About Us!

UHC Sunday School is a launchpad for the youth of our community to live Jewish lives, and to develop a sense of pride and confidence in their Jewish identities. Our teachers, parent volunteers, madrichim (teen aides), and Rabbi Ribak collaborate to make the Sunday school a cornerstone of our UHC community and a home for families from all over the world from all different backgrounds.

We aim to:

  • Celebrate Jewish life, rituals, and holidays
  • Develop and deepen Jewish identity (Jewish history, Torah, Israel)
  • Foster Jewish friendships and sense of community
  • Prepare students for their bar or bat mitzvah
  • Learn to decode Hebrew (Reading, writing, and speaking)

Overview:

  • We teach in-person and use the Shalom Learning curriculum.
  • We welcome children from 5 to 13 years old to enroll in Sunday school
  • We welcome teenagers to work in the school as madrichim, classroom helpers
  • We meet on Sundays from 9:30am to 12pm
