Rabbi Ribak Visit to Singapore

The Search Committee and I are pleased to announce that Rabbinic candidate, Rabbi Amnon Ribak, and his wife, Tirza, will visit Singapore between Thursday, November 14 and Sunday, Novmeber 17. During this visit, members of the UHC community will have a number of opportunities to meet Rabbi Ribak in spiritual as well as social and academic capacities.

I would like to thank the whole search committee along with members of the Gabbai team and the Management Committee for undertaking a rigorous vetting and interview process and getting us to this stage.

Rabbi Amnon Ribak

Rabbi Amnon Ribak serves as the rabbi of the Reform congregation 'Ma'alot Tivon' in Kiryat Tivon, east of Haifa. Israel. Prior to that, he served as a student rabbi at the Or Hadash congregation in Haifa. Before turning to Jewish studies and a rabbinical career, Ribak was a high-tech person and worked for over 26 years in the industry, most of them at the IBM Research Lab in Haifa.

Rabbi Ribak was ordained at the Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem, in 2021. He holds a Master's degree in Jewish Studies from the prestigious Ruderman Program at the University of Haifa, focusing on American Jewry and the State of Israel. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Judaism from the Open University. In his previous life, he studied computers and computational linguistics in the Interdisciplinary Program for Fostering Excellence at Tel Aviv University. Rabbi Ribak is also a poet and translator of children books from English to Hebrew.

Rabbi Ribak lives in Haifa, is married to Tirza, a father of three and a grandfather of two granddaughters.
