Yom HaShoah & Potluck Dinner

On April 16, we will mark Yom HaShoah with Light from the Darkness: a ritual for Holocaust remembrance, an innovative new program developed by our member, Deborah Fripp, and her colleagues at Teach the Shoah. This powerful seder-like experience commemorates the Holocaust in a new way, honoring our lost and remembering the horrific hatred and violence we endured, while simultaneously celebrating our survival and our strength. Appropriate for ages 13+ (and younger children at parental discretion).

6 Week Program for Descendants of Holocaust survivors

Starting in late April and running through May, Teach the Shoah will be holding a 6-week class to help children (2G) and grandchildren (3G) of survivors learn to tell their family stories. Participants will work with professional storytellers and Holocaust scholars to learn how to organize what they know, research what they do not know, and craft their family stories into a compelling presentation. Class will run weekly from April 23 through June 3. This class will be co-sponsored by UHC but also open to the wider Singapore Jewish community.
